Privacy policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
The short version. Your chats, settings and API keys stay in your browser. Your messages go straight from your browser to the AI provider you pick, never through us. An account is optional. If you connect Google Drive, the app can only see the files it makes there, and those files go straight between your browser and Google.
Who we are
Your Own Stack (yourownstack.com, including the app at /app/ and Stack Planner) is run by Wiggins Digital Holdings LLC. Questions about this policy: privacy@yourownstack.com.
What stays on your device
The app saves your chats, folders, settings, workflows and API keys in your browser's storage on your device. We don't receive copies. Deleting your browser data for this site, or using Delete all local data in the app's Settings, removes them.
Your messages and AI providers
When you send a message, your browser sends it, with the API key you added, directly to the provider of the model you chose (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Mistral or OpenRouter). Each provider handles it under its own API terms and privacy policy. We never see your messages or your keys.
Accounts (optional)
You can use the site without an account. If you sign up or sign in, our sign-in provider, Clerk, handles it for us and stores your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name, profile picture and Google account ID. We use these only to sign you in and to let you connect Google Drive. Clerk sets cookies that are needed for sign-in to work. To delete your account, use Manage account in the account menu or email us.
Google Drive
If you choose to connect Google Drive, we ask Google for one permission: to see, create and change only the files Your Own Stack makes in your Drive (Google calls this drive.file). We can't see or open any other file in your Drive.
- What it's for: saving backups you ask for to a "Your Own Stack" folder in your own Drive, and reading them back on your other devices: your API keys, encrypted on your device with a password you pick before they're uploaded, and the chats you mark "Keep in Drive", which are saved as they are, without encryption.
- How it works: Clerk keeps the Google access token. When the app needs it, our server checks that you're signed in and passes the token to your browser; we don't store it. Your browser then talks to Google Drive directly, so the contents of your files never pass through our servers.
- What we never do with Google data: we don't sell it, use it for advertising, let people read it, or use it to develop, improve or train AI models. We don't transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide the backup feature, for security, or to comply with the law.
- Turning it off: tap Disconnect in the app's Settings, and remove Your Own Stack from your Google account's third-party access page. The backup files stay in your Drive until you delete them.
Your Own Stack's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Early-access list
If you join the early-access list in Stack Planner, we store your email address, when you joined, which page you used, a summary of your quiz answers (such as local or cloud, the tasks you picked and the estimated monthly cost) and your country, which our host works out from your connection. We use it only to tell you when the app launches. Your IP address is used briefly to stop abuse and expires within minutes. Email us to be removed.
Hosting and analytics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests (including your IP address) to deliver pages. The landing page and Stack Planner use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites. The app itself isn't measured.
Children
Your Own Stack isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use Google data, we'll ask for your permission again first.
